Luminess Air Review And How To Become A Consultant

Press Sample- Review by Aleya

One of the things that I remember best about getting ready for my wedding day was getting my makeup done. Before that day, I only wore lipstick because I had beautiful skin and didn’t like to put anything besides moisturizer on it. My makeup artist talked me into getting a face full of makeup that day though because the lighting for the pictures tend to be super bright and he didn’t want me to look washed out in photos. Understanding that I didn’t want the caked on look he decided to use an airbrush on my. The look was flawless.

Over the years, I’ve started using makeup more and more and whenever I attended a makeup show I always found myself stopping at various booths appreciate the porcelain faces that the artists created with them.  I recently received my very own Luminess Air Airbrush Makeup System to try at home and I can’t tell you how exciting it is for me. It’s not that my skin looks bad. Actually I’m now in my 40s and my skin still looks pretty damn good, especially when you consider that I was a serious sun worshiper in my younger days. The system is intriguing to me because I feel like airbrushing is like painting and since I’m an artist at heart, the process calls out to me.

Luminess Air Airbrush Makeup System Review

The Luminess Air Airbrush Makeup System that I got to try is the Launch kit which is meant for people who want to become consultants. I’ll get to the consult part later though because for now I want to tell you about the kit. The way that the system works is that it has a continuous airflow that delivers a micro-fine mist of tiny pixels to your skin. The system helps to eliminate cross- contamination, which results in healthier, fresher skin.

I was impressed with the Luminess Air company even before I tried the system because they are very user friendly. On the side of the box they have a toll free number that you can call to learn how to airbrush. They also have videos on their website that shows you how to use their systems which is great because you get to see exactly how it’s done. They’ve even created an app that you can upload onto your phone. If you’re a person who likes to learn to do things by watching instead of reading, this is a real treat.

Using the airbrush is actually pretty easy. You hold the brush the same way that you would a pen. When you first turn the system on you’ll notice that there’s only air coming out of the tip. To get the makeup out, use your index finger to gently pull back on the trigger. You’ll notice that air mixes with the makeup and it starts coming out of the tip of the airbrush. You hold the airbrush about four finger lengths away from your face (roughly two inches) and you move the system in a circular motion.

There are three lines on the airbrush tool. You want to be between the first and second lines. If you pull the trigger back to the third line a lot of makeup comes out and it’s difficult to control. Actually the basics video on Luminess Air recommends going to the third line only when you want to clean the system.

Although they recommend trying it for a week to get a hang of it I found that the system is really easy to use and didn’t need a whole week to get the hang of it. Like I said before, my skin is pretty good but I do have a few light sun spots from my last vacation a few months ago. I found that after one round the spots had totally disappeared. If they were darker I would probably have to spray on some more but that’s ok because the foundation is totally buildable. I actually tried to go a second round and I found that the coverage was still smooth and natural looking. My skin was still able to breathe as well which is huge for me. Most importantly, my rosacea didn’t flare up and the face that I created lasted all day.

The Luminess Air system includes:

  • airbrush system
  • set of foundations in various shades
  • a bronzer and glow
  • a blush and primer
  • a starter manual

The only challenge that I really faced when using the Luminess Air is that they provide me with 12 small bottles of foundations so I had to make some time to figure out which one was right for me. Normally however they only send two bottles so it’s much easier to figure out. I just got the 12 bottles for editorial purposes so in my case it took a bit of doing but the time and effort were well worth it and at the end I was happy that they provided me with so many shades. In the future it will be much easier though because I can just purchase the color that I need and be done with it.

The Luminess Air Airbrush Makeup System claims to eliminate wrinkles, even skin tone, minimize pores and smooth texture for a youthful, flawless finish that looks and feels as natural as bare skin. Their cosmetics are perfect for all skin types and provide coverage in a range of skin-matching shades. If you want to try out the system you can pick one up for $249 (originally $299) and since the system is over $50 you don’t pay for shipping. They also offer a 30 day money back guarantee which is handy if you’re unhappy with the purchase.

I just was thinking that I have to pull out my Luminess set one of these days. I wish I could leave it out someplace, but I don’t have the space coz I know I’d use it more often. I especially adore their blush

I’ve always been fascinated with airbrushing but have had trepidation about using one. I need to see someone using it to break me of the fear.

I’ve always been curious about these systems and truthfully kind of afraid of them.

I tried using a similar airbrush system and totally failed at it, haha! I know it takes practice, but I’m just too impatient :) The results always look amazing though.
