Borghese Fango Essenziali Moisturize Face Mask Review

One of my pet peeves in life is dry, flaky skin. When I notice that my skin gets flaky and white it tells me that I’m not taking proper care of it. Most of the time I don’t have this issue because I’m a super psycho fanatic when it comes to skincare, however it does happen every now and again in the winter when the air is intensely cold. The best way that I found to combat dry skin is to drink tons of water, eat lots of fruits, use a heavier moisturizer, exfoliate weekly and apply a moisturizing mask once or twice a week. It’s a long list but the truth is that it really doesn’t take all that much time.

We had a pretty mild winter this year but we did have a couple of super cold, skin drying days. I already wrote two posts: Reveiva Labs Nourishing Cream Review and Skin Research Laboratories Instant Cell Exfoliator Review which are about two products that really helped to save my skin this winter. Today I want to tell you about a mask that also helped to take my skin fro looking chalky to smooth and healthy. The mask is the Borghese Fango Essenziali Moisturize Face Mask which claims to be a  remedy for parched, dry skin because they infuse the sheet with superfoods such as avocado, kelp and acai berry. You know that I love my avocado masks so of course I’m going to run to any product that contains it.

Borghese Fango Essenziali Face Mask Review

The Borghese Fango face mask is a sheet mask that comes in a easy to open pouch. Before you apply it to your face you have to remove a white protective film from the sheet. The mask is drenched with product which I love because that means that the skin will be able to really soak up the nutrients in the mask. I have a fantastic sense of smell (makes up for my horrible hearing) so I was able to detect the slightest touch of sweet fragrance but it’s nothing that is off putting. It really is barely noticeable and the longer the sheet is on your skin the less you notice it.

When I got the mask to ready to apply to my skin I noticed that there are lots of tight creases on it because it had been folded. Maybe it’s because of these creases or maybe it’s because the sheet is so thick that when I put the sheet on my face it wouldn’t sit flat. There were parts of it that were totally standing off of my skin so I had to touch it down every once in a while.

The instructions say that the mask can be left on for anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes. I left it on for 15 minutes because I had the time and wanted to get some extra moisture. By this time the mask was halfway dry but my skin had lots of product on it. I used the tips of my fingers to gently rub the product that was sitting in top of my skin into it, making sure that I paid close attention to the areas that the mask wasn’t covering the whole time. What I found was that my skin looked positively radiant. All traces of dryness were completely gone and I couldn’t be happier.

While the Borghese Fango Essenziali Moisturize Face Mask contains castor oil and glycerin the real magic workers of the mask are the superfoods that they’ve infused into the sheet:

  • Avocade Extract Nourishes and conditions skin (you can learn more about why avocado is good for your skin).
  •  Kelp Extract Aids in skin regeneration and rejuvenation.
  • Acai Berry This powerful antioxidant has invigorating properties to perk up tired skin.

The Borghese Fango Essenziali Moisturize Face Mask is good for all skin types, is paraben free, clinically tested and allergy tested. Each mask is sold for roughly $7 per sheet but you can buy it by the box as well if you like to stock up.

I enjoyed using this mask and like the results that I got from it. If you want to give your skin a good moisture boost then I do recommend it.

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers

Didn’t know Borghese made sheet masks. Too bad the material was thick though, it really doesn’t do your skin any good if it’s “moisturizing the air”.

I’ve seen these in the store. I’ll have to try them.
