There’s nothing like a body scrub that moisturizes your skin and awakens it at the same time. It’s almost like the product breathed new life into your skin and is making it glow with health and vibrant energy. The pumpkin and avocado body scrub recipe that I want to share with you today is a recipe that gives my skin exactly that look and feeling even during the dryest of times.
The reason that this mask works such wonders is pretty simple. First, the ingredients are all natural so you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin and there are no dangerous fillers. Second, the ingredients themselves are all about moisture and health. The benefits of avocado for the skin includes it being filled with vitamins that give your skin a healthy glow. The benefits of using honey on skin is that it has phenomenal moisturizing and anti-aging properties. Some of the benefits of pumpkins are that it’s a natural exfoliant and a great softening agent. All three of these ingredients can be used by anyone regardless of their skin type.
DIY Pumpkin And Avocado Body Scrub Recipe
The ingredients that you will need are:
- 1 Avocado peeled and pitted
- Pumpkin (same amount as avocado)- I actually used the filling from a leftover pumpkin pie when I made this batch but if you want all natural just cook the pumpkin until it’s soft
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1-s tablespoon(s) coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup coffee grinds (if you don’t want to use coffee then double up on the sugar)
The directions for making this avocado and pumpkin body scrub recipe is as follows:
Mash the avocado and pumpkin with a fork until they are smooth and then add in all the rest of the ingredients. I like my scrubs a little on the more watery side but if you like it coarser then add more sugar. You can use this pumpkin and avocado body scrub just like any other exfoliant. Just get into the shower and apply the mixture to your skin. Using your fingertips make round circles to gently exfoliate away the dead skin cells. The mixture will wash away easily leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated.
I recommend using this body scrub immediately but if you need to you can refrigerate it for up to two days. Any more than that I recommend making a new batch. Keep in mind that the longer it sits the browner it gets, not to mention that the vitamins start deteriorating.
I hope that you enjoy using this scrub. It’s one of my favorites for fall and winter.
