Press Sample from Influenster Voxbox- Review by Aleya
When I try out a new mascara I like to buy the ones that make my lashes thicker, longer and darker. Throw in some curling action and I’m a fan for life. For daytime looks I don’t mind it all that much if it’s not very dramatic but when it comes to my evening looks I have to have more dramatic lashes. Since I like a more natural look for day and night there are only two ways that I get the dramatic look. I either do a natural shimmery smokey eye look or I lay on a good nighttime mascara. I have to tell you, I’m not sure if it’s my mascara or lipstick drawer that’s overflowing with more products.
Maybelline Big Shot mascara has just started selling in local drug stores and I received one in my Influenster Voxbox to try out. Based on the description it looks like this mascara is more focused on volume rather than fatteining up the lashes. When I got the mascara I was actully pretty curious to see whether it would give me any of the looks that I want to get see if I would have to meke room for it in my mascara drawer at all.
Company Description- ‘Unleash girl boss lashes with Colossal Big Shot, for fully loaded volume in one coat. 8 out of 10 saw root to tip volume instantly. The Big Shot brush features unique, wavy bristles that cradle lashes, while the collagen formula delivers bold volume.’
Maybelline Collossal Big Shot Mascara Review
The Maybelline Big Shot mascara has thinner and straighter wand that the mascaras that I normally favor. The bristles are wavy though and apparently that’s what makes the mascara work it’s magic. Well, that and the formulation of the ingredients.
I applied the mascara the same way that I do with most of my other mascaras so I started at the root and slowly worked my way to the tip of the lashes. As promised, with one coat I found that my lashes looked much longer and blacker and there was absolutely no sign of clumping or flaking. They didn’t look fatter and my lashes stayed impossibly straight but they didn’t promise those results so there was no let down.
The Maybelline Big Shot mascara is available in a washable and a waterproof version. The one that I got is the waterproof. It did stay on for the entire day and into the evening without needing a touch up. I used my MAC waterproof makeup remover to take it off it it wiped away easily enough. As far as lengthening goes Big shot is everything that they promised.
Since I like a mascara that also fattens my lashes I’ll probably use it in conjunction with another mascara that does that and then use a curler to curl my lashes. The Maybelline Colossal Big Shot mascara is sold at stores such as Walmart near you. If you’re looking for a volumizing mascara that’s reasonably priced then it’s worth a look.
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
