Why The Acqualina Hotel Should Be On Your Bucket List

17 May

Miami is one of my all time favorite places to visit. I loved it when I was i my twenties and wanted to go to the beach and clubs. I loved it when I discovered that I married a guy who’s idea of a vacation is to just hang out by the pool and eat. I love it now that I have a kid. What I’m saying is that no matter what you’re looking for, Miami can offer it to you on a silver platter. The trick is finding the right hotel for your needs. The Acqualina Hotel in Miami is one of those rare gems of a hotel that has it all.

A good friend of mine has been there a bunch of times and had been hassling me to stay there for a while. After doing some research I decided to listen to him and made a reservation. Shortly there after I started hearing the name everywhere. Seriously, everywhere. Now if you’ve never heard of it I want to tell you why I’m so happy that I got the opportunity to stay there and why you should go as well if you ever get the chance.

Acqualina Hotel Review

It’s Luxury At Its Finest

  • The service that you get at the Acqualina Hotel can not be surpassed (or at least it hasn’t been by anywhere that I’ve stayed at before). The staff is friendly, helpful and understanding. Everyone is always smiling and incredibly helpful at all times. My friend who visited with us had cancer at the time and the extra care that they took to help her still warms my heart.
  • The hotel is spotless. You’ll be hard pressed to find a paper towel on the floor or a drop of water on the counter by the sink. I’m sure that there’s a cleaning crew running all over the place but they were invisible- I never saw anyone.
  • If you just want to lay back and relax then you’ll love the spending time in one of the quiet poolside areas. The beach is fantastic as well. Not only did they set up beautiful red umbrellas and chairs on the sand but they hung up some hammocks where you can swing time away. I have to say that the red against the blue sky is very pretty.
  • The regular rooms at the Acqualina resort are beautiful but the suite is awesome! I love the wrap around balcony, the super spacious bath and the eat in kitchen.

Beautiful Decor

  • One of the things that I love about decor is mixing textures and this is something that the Acqualina did in their rooms. I love how they mix fabrics with faux furs, various tiles and stones and artwork.
  • There are pieces of artwork everywhere so there’s always something to look at in each and every room.
  • They used a combination of modern and more traditional pieces of furniture in every room which makes for a more welcoming setting.

They Make Kids Feel Welcome And Important

  • When we got to the hotel a lady walked over to us with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen. First she welcomed my husband and myself but then she looked at my daughter and asked her name. Then she took my daughter by the hand and thanked her for staying at the Acqualina. Now this may not sound like a big deal to you but it makes a kid feel like royalty and let me tell you that my kid still talks about it.
  • Once we signed in another lady went up to my daughter and asked her if she could show her the grounds. Again, the attention to my child blew me away.
  • When we got to the room, we found a plate of fruit and a plate of cookies next to a note that welcomed my daughter for staying at the resort for the second time and let her know that there was a glass of milk in the refrigerator. When we went to the bathroom, we found that there was a rubber ducky by the tub and a soft kid sized bath robe on a hanger.
  • My daughter knew how to doggy paddle before we got to the hotel. An instructor by the name of Oscar was giving lessons to other kids and after watching them for a few minutes my daughter asked to get lessons as well. The lessons cost $100 an hour but let me tell you it’s money well spent. After just one lesson, my kid was able to swim faster and better than her cousins who have a pool in their home and have taken lessons already.

Good Food

  • The breakfast is fantastic. They have a good spread of fresh fruits, pastries, freshly made omelets and much more. The only problem is knowing where to start.
  • We pretty much spent every day having lunch at the pool side restaurant, Costa Grill. The menu is not large but they have is always good. I was obsessed with their Cesar salad.
  • There are two restaurants in the Acqualina resort lobby, AQ by Acqualina and IL Mulino. We went to AQ and really enjoyed the food and service. We skipped IL Mulino though because there’s one here in New York and we like to try new things while we’re away. If you like Italian though be sure to try it out.

Fantastic Location

  • The Acqualina resort anywhere from five to twenty minutes away from all of the great shopping, restaurants and hot spots in Miami. Personally I became obsessed with the Bal Harbour Shops where you can find everything from Saks to BVLGARI.
  • If you don’t have a car then the Acqualina will provide you with a Tessla car service (but only for a few miles from the hotel).

The Acqualina hotel is definitely one of my favorite hotels of all time. I truly enjoyed my time there and hope to visit again soon.

What a stunning hotel!! Where in Miami is it located? I haven’t been to Miami in almost 10 years. It’s so much fun there, I’d love to go back

It’s on Collins Ave- maybe 15-20 minutes from Lincoln. Five minutes from the Ba Harbour Mall.

What an absolutely awesome hotel. I can’t get over how big the kitchen and bathroom are. Those are important in my book. Thats wonderful they were so attentive to your daughter as well!
