Happy birthday to my favorite beauty sampling service, Glossybox! If you’ve never heard of Glossybox before it’s a service that sends you five full and sample sized beauty products every month for the amazing price of $21 per month. I know that there are a lot of other similar companies out there and I’ve tried a few of them but I’m loyal to Glossybox because they know beauty and they stick to it. I’ve yet to receive a box containing tea bags and paper coasters (you know which subscription service you are, I’m not going to call you out here).
So three years! And I just learned that they have sold over 6 million boxes. That’s incredible! But if you’re wondering what all the fuss is about it’s simply that you get to learn about new products and that you get to try products that you know without spending the big bucks on something you don’t like. It’s the perfect system for people who like to try new things. Now check out what they sent this month.
Kryolon For Glossybox- Highlighter in Cashmere $18.95/ .15oz
Company Description- ‘In celebration of our third birthday, use this special edition multipurpose highlighter on cheekbones, eyes, lips or wherever the light catches you, for a lit-from-within glow’.
I generally don’t use highlighters because my skin doesn’t capture much light but I did play with this one a little. It’s a cream that can easily be smoothed over an area and blends beautifully. Fantastic!
SpaRitual Nail Polish in Uncharted $12/ .5oz
Company Description- ‘SpaRitual’s spring range is inspired by the flora and fauna found in a North American forest and meant to evoke feelings of outdoor nostalgia. With shades that harken to the bright flashes of color superimposed with a well-worn hiking trail, each nail lacquer is free of DBP, toluene, camphor, formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin’.
The color Uncharted is a metallic hot pink. I know that a lot of people are going to love the color but I’m not a fan of metallic colored polishes. I can’t say why, it’s just the way it is.
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner $16/ .07oz
Company Description- ‘The British cosmetics brand, fronted by self-proclaimed eyeliner addict Alexa Chung, is all about the eye. Described as one of Chung’s favorite products for a Sixties look, this pigmented liquid pen features a long-lasting formula, and a precision tip for defined lines, bold wings and everything in between’.
I am obsessed with this liner! It’s easy to hold because it feels like a pencil but it glides smoothly like a liquid liner. It’s soft and highly pigmented but best of all it allows you to make thin and thick lines easily.
Uberliss Hydrating Shampoo And Conditioner $23.90 /12oz shampoo and $25.90 /12oz conditioner
Company Description- ‘Promising shine and a dose of hydration thanks to ingredients like royal jelly, blueberry, apple, sugercane, green tea, lemon peel and keratin, the Uberliss Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner are sulfate free and leave hair fiber soft and easy to comb’.
Remember when I said that Glossybox allows you to try out products before purchasing them? A couple of weeks ago I splurged and purchased this shampoo and conditioner online. I have to say that it does make my hair feel smooth and look shiny just like they promised.. In this case the splurge is definitely worth it. As for these sample sized bottles that they sent, I’m putting them aside for travel.
Eslor Firming Collagen Day Cream $85/ 1.7oz
Company Description- ‘Containing natural skin-firming ingredients like ginseng extract, hydrolized marine collagen, avocado, wheat germ and sesame oils, this anti-aging cream should be massaged twice a day onto cleansed skin to improve elasticity and prevent the early appearance of wrinkles’.
As amazing as this sounds I’ve put in on hold because I’m currently using another moisturizer. I’ve put it next in line for use though.
I love this month’s Glossybox. If you want to get your very own beauty boxes in the mail every month just head over to their site for a $21 for a Monthly Subscription
