While VO5 is a name that I grew up knowing about, it’s a brand that I never tried until now. The people at VO5 sent me a few products including the Salon Series shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair which I didn’t use because I don’t color my hair. The body wash they sent however, is something that I definitely wanted to try because I love learning about new skin care products.
Company Description- ‘Helps to nourish, moisturize and hydrate your skin leaving it feeling soft, smooth and looking simply beautiful’.
VO5 Essentials Body Wash Review
I got to try the creamy mango and hibiscus scented VO5 body wash and found that it had a light, soothing fragrance. It wasn’t overpowering at all which I like for the days when I don’t want to wake up with a jolt (I use coffee or lemon scents on those days). I like that I didn’t have to use a lot of product to build up a rich lather and it rinsed away easily without leaving behind an residue.
So far so good, but I can’t say that I love the VO5 Essentials body wash because after two or three uses I found that it started to make my skin dry. Once I stopped using it my skin stopped looking dry and flakey again so I started reusing it and it happened again so I put it away for good.
Now, just because I always like to check out the ingredients on boxes, here’s what they used to make this product:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Ammonium Chloride, Fragrance, Lauryl Glucoside, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Guar Hydroxypropyl Methycellulose, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Polysorbate 20, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Ascorbic Acid, Niacin, Biotin, Orange 4, Yellow 5, Red 40
I wish I could say that a I’m adding this household name to my future purchase list but my skin is sensitive as it is and I don’t want to dry it out. It’s too bad really because it only costs $2.99- that’s a lot cheaper than the washes I normally use.
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
