Influenster is a platform that allows a community of people, including bloggers and to learn about brands and products and share their experiences with others. One of the ways that they do this is by sending a Vox Box to the bloggers so that they can try out the products. In this case, I got some great Mary Kay makeup to review for you today.
Mary Kay Reviews
- The products that they sent are:
- Cheek Blush
- Translucent Loose Powder
- Bronzing Powder
- Mineral Cheek Color
- Cream Eye Color
- Gel Eyeliner
- Nourishing Plus Lip Gloss
- Lash Love
Cheek Blush- I love the Mary Kay Cheek Brush. It has domed shaped bristles that are soft so that you can easily brush your makeup onto your face. It picks up a lot of color so that you don’t have to constantly pick up more powder.
Translucent Loose Powder- This powder has a completely sheer finish so that you can’t tell that it’s there. It should be used over foundation which I don’t wear too often so I simply applied it over my moisturizer to control the glow. If you do have oily skin however, then Mary Kay made this product for you because it’s supposed to help control the excess oil while helping your makeup to stay put.
Bronzing Powder- They Mary Kay Bronzing Powder that I got is in the light-medium color. It’s one of my favorite products that I got to try because it gives the skin a beautiful sun kissed glow but it looks very natural at the same time. I also like that it’s really easy to blend because I’m all about saving time. For those of us who don’t get to see the sun too often this bronzer is the answer to looking like you do.
Check out these swatches of the Translucent Loose Powder (on left- even though you can’t see it, but that’s the point), the Bronzing Powder and the Cheek Blush.
Mineral Cheek Color- The blush color that I got to try is called Shy Blush. I have a touch of rosacea on my cheeks so I tend to avoid blush. However, I couldn’t help but try this one out after I used the Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder and Bronzing Powder to get a more finished look. The blush has the slightest shimmer so that it’s barely noticeable. It’s a beautiful pink that once blended looks completely natural.
Cream Eye Color- The Cream Eye Color shade is called Apricot Twist. It a golden apricot color with lots and lots of shimmer that can be used to create daytime and nighttime looks. Although it goes on wet, it dries very quickly. I made the mistake of forgetting to apply a primer before I applied the shadow and it looked splotchy so don’t make that mistake. Once I applied it over primer it was beautiful. Smooth, shimmery, prefect.
Gel Eyeliner- If you’re looking for a highly pigmented, rich liner then this is for you! The Mary Kay gel eyeliner is in a little jar and comes with a small (about an inch and a half) brush. Initially I thought that the size is great because you can put it in your purse in case you need a touchup. However, once I applied it I quickly learned that you won’t have to touchup your liner for a very long time to come. The gel is highly pigmented and has tremendous staying power. I used waterproof makeup remover on it and even then I had to put some muscle into getting it off. My only issue is that the brush makes a very thick line which is great for a trendier look. However, if I want a more natural look then I would reach for another one of my brushes that allows me to make thinner lines.
Nourishing Plus Lip Gloss- One of my favorite products that they sent me is the Mary Kay gloss in color Mango Tango. It’s a beautiful sheer red (not yellow like a mongo) that is almost a neutral color. It feels hydrating on the lips and doesn’t feel tacky at all.
Now here are some swatches of the Cream Eye Color, Gel Eyeliner and the Nourishing Plus Gloss.
Lash Love- I must have reached for the Lash Love mascara every day this week. It works wonders at thickening and elongating the lashes without making them clump together.
When all of these Mary Kay products are used together they create a phenomenal summer. You can learn more about Mary Kay cosmetics at MaryKay.com
