MAC Makeup Wipes Review

5 Feb

About two years ago I went to the MAC makeup  counter to get my makeup done. While the fake lashes and smokey eye looked great it was the makeup wipes that really got my attention.

Company Description- ‘Swipes away makeup, smudges, dirt and grime, pronto! Oversized, luxurious, super-saturated with special M·A·C cleanser infused with protective vitamin E. Hydrates and nourishes highly efficiently. Extremely refreshing. Totally addictive. Slickly packed, re-sealable, ready to go!’

MAC Makeup Wipes Review

Usually I like to write out paragraphs but I found myself making a list of why I love the MAC makeup wipes so this time around I’m going to stray from my usual and write a list instead.

  • The MAC makeup wipes are super gentle and don’t irritate my sensitive skin.
  • They work wonders in removing all traces of makeup and dirt without my having to scrub my skin off.
  • I can use them to take off waterproof mascara without much effort.
  • They contain vitamin E which makes them both effective and moisturizing.
  • I love the scent of the wipes. They smell fresh and breezy but does’t leave behind the fragrance after you’ve used the wipe.
  • The wipes come in a pack that has an open and close top that seals tight. This helps to give them a longer shelf life which is great because there are so many wipes in the pack.

I’ve heard some complaints about the  price of the wipes. Yes, they’re pricey however the way that I see it is that you get what you pay for and the MAC makeup wipes are definitely the best that I’ve ever used.

Have you tried MAC makeup wipes? What’s your favorite brand?

How much are they? I haven’t tried these wipes but I love the idea of a wipe that doesn’t have to be used forcefully to get the dirt off my face! These sound worth it

I love using makeup removing wipes, but most of them irritate my skin.

I found these to be gentle. Maybe you can try one out at a MAC Counter to see how it is for you.

I have not used the MAC wipes. They sound great, most reviews I have read are raves. But their price is way out of my budget. *sigh*

I use Neutrogena wipes. They are terrific, remove my face makeup beautifully (I use a separate eye makeup remover), smell good, and they don’t sting or burn my extremely sensitive eyes. They are easy to find and affordable so they are a winner, in my book.

They’ve told me at the MAC store that I’m one of only a few people that don’t like these. It’s the fragrance of them that drives me crazy. They work wonderfully but I can’t get past the fragrance.

I’m not sure I could make myself cough up that kind of dough for a makeup wipe! They do sound like they are pretty awesome, though, and you make a good case for them!

I wish I could use make-up remover wipes but they’re too harsh on my sensitive skin. I do love anything MAC though. Great review!

I should try these wipes. Right now I just use whatever I see from the drugstore.

I like the neutrogena wipes. I didn’t even know MAC made makeup wipes, but I’m not super familiar with the brand. I think I’d probably stay in the drugstore price range for wipes.

They sound good : ) I wonder how they compare with Neutrogena..

    • Aleya February 6, 2014 at 2:21 pm #

I haven’t tried the Neutrogena but I’ve never really loved any drugstore brand wipes that I have tried.

I love these MAC wipes, but I only ever use them to clean swatches off of my arm lol I wised up and went to Big Lots and bought a dollar pack of Cucumber face wipes. Worked the same. I’m not worried about what’s in them since it’s on my arm lol

They sounds great, but I’m a little concerned about the size/price. It would take me a long time to use up 100 wipes and at $29, I’d be worried that they would dry out, even in a resealable pack, before I used them up.

I’ve never had an issue with them drying out but if you are you can purchase the smaller packs.
