Dove has been a household name for me since I was a child. It brings memories of a white bar of soap falling into a sea of white and thoughts of no perfumes and dermatologist recommended. I must admit however, that even though it was always available to me it was something that I just never tried because even as a kid I wanted a product that had olive oil, lavender or something else in it. Dove has recently sent me a bottle of their limited edition Winter Care Body Wash to review.

Winter Care Body Wash Review
The second the month of October hit my skin turned into glove of sandpaper. It’s dry enough that I can draw white lines all over it when using very little pressure. All the water, nuts and green veggies in the world can’t give me the beautiful healthy looking skin that I enjoy during the warmer months. It really is embarrassing and I have to take extra care to not leave my home without and extra coating of moisturizer.
About a quarter size of the Dove Winter Care is enough to clean my entire body and I’m a tall girl 5’8”). It works into a rich, creamy lather in no time at all and easily washes away leaving no trace of residue. Although I know that Dove doesn’t use and perfumes or dyes in their soaps and washes I found myself sniffing around for a fragrance. While there was no sign of a strong floral or citrus perfume, it does have a soothing scent that I really like. As it turns out the fragrance is derived from sodium chloride which is salt. Huh.
All of this is nice and well but on to the real reason that I tried the Winter Care. I used it for three weeks straight and early on found that the dry lines started to disappear. After about a week and a half my skin actually did feel smoother. Part of the reason that it works so well is that they incorporated soybean oil and sunflower seed oil into their list of ingredients and they are known to help soothe dry skin.
I still needed to apply moisturizer on a regular basis but I would do that regardless because I give the skin on my body the same amount of extra loving care that I give my face. As for the Dove Winter Care, I would love it if they kept it going all year round because it works beautifully and is inexpensive. I’m a fan of this product and will definitely purchase another bottle or two for the cold winter months.
