Obiqo Skincare Reviews

There were four words on the about us page on the Obiqo skincare website that jumped out at me- Alive, Refreshed, Renewed and Inspired. These words were written on the very bottom of the page and while the rest of the information about New Zealand and kelp was very interesting, it was these four words that had me intrigued. I don’t recall the last time that I was able to say that a skincare product made me feel refreshed or even more important, inspired. The people at Obiqo couldn’t have contacted me for a review at a better time. My skin was getting dry due to the change of season and felt horrible because of another skincare line that I had tried and reacted to badly- very, very badly.

Company Description- ‘Obiqo combines nutrient-rich sea kelp from New Zealand’s pristine waters with the very finest natural marine anti-ageing extracts and the powerful anti-oxidant properties of French organic sea lavender,  to create a range of products that are great for your skin, and sensational for your soul’.

The two products that I requested were the Obiqo face serum and the gentle face scrub.

Obiqo Gentle Face Scrub

obiqo_face_scrub_reviewCompany Description- ‘Sweet almond and apricot oils support extracts of nutrient-rich sea kelp, sea lavender and wheat germ oil. As you massage in goodness jojoba beads gently polish away dead skin cells to reveal your complexion’s natural radiance’.

I used a little less than a quarter size of the scrub and found that it was very easy to maneuver without any discomfort. The particles that have exfoliating properties are so fine that they didn’t scratch my skin at all. In fact if I wasn’t paying attention I would probably have not even noticed them.

The scrub has a mid fragrance which I can’t put my finger on and was  easy to rinse. Once it was removed the scent was gone  and there was no residue left behind. I actually found that my skin not only felt incredibly smooth but it looked refreshed and renewed as well. I also had a nice healthy glow which is a gift during the cooler months.

I love some of  the ingredients that they use to make the Obiqo face scrub.

  • Sweet almond oil
  • Jojoba oil
  • Aloe vera extract
  • Apricot oil
  • Sea lavender
  • Kelp extract
  • Wheatgerm oil

Obiqo Intensive Facial Serum

obiqo_serum_reviewCompany Description- ‘Anti-aging and regenerating natural marine peptides combine with deeply moisturizing and hydrating HyadisineTM to create Obiqo’s unique intensive facial serum.  Extracts from New Zealand’s coastal flora (pohutukawa, kowhai, and mamaku) act in harmony to soothe and calm the skin.

When I started using the serum my skin was in such desperate need of help that I wondered how long it would take before the stinging would settle down and the redness would go away. Once applied the serum quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving behind any residue or fragrance at all. It’s a lightweight product which is great because it’s meant to be used with a moisturizer so my skin could actually breathe.. Most importantly, it helped to improve my skin in exactly two. The redness was gone and the annoying feeling pretty much vanished. My skin appeared to be healthy and moisturized even when I didn’t apply moisturizer over it.

Some of the ingredients that help make the Obiqo face serum as good as it is are:

  • Algae extract
  • Sea lavendar
  • Pohutukawa flower extract
  • Kowhai leaf/ flower extract
  • Mamaku leaf extract
  • Kiwi fruit extract
  • Citric acid

I’m now a fan of  the Obiqo  line and am happy that they are now available in the US. Obiqo skincare is sold on Amazon but yu can learn more about them at http://www.obiqoskincareusa.com/

I’ve been definitely heading towards more natural products. They give amazing results and don’t have a lot of junk in them.
