Tarte Glamazon Review

17 Jul

There are a few lipsticks and glosses that are my go tos for lip products. One of them is the Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12 Hour Lipstick in the Fierce color. As the name suggests, Fierce is a bold red color that is not for the faint of heart. It’s bright, it’s glamorous and it’s super sexy. If you like to be noticed, this lipstick will definitely get you the attention that you want. People actually saw me from across the room at a wedding and asked me what color and brand I’m wearing. It’s a color that I originally got in a Glossybox but once my friend took it from me I purchased on my own.

I also found that the Tarte Glamazon lipstick does not last for 12 hours. It lasts for almost 24 hours if you don’t make an effort to wipe it off. I applied it in the morning, had coffee, lunch and dinner and water while wearing it and it never smudged. I wiped food from my mouth and it never smudged. I spoke to my clients for hours on end and yep you guessed it- it never smudged. Not only did it last, but the color didn’t bleed either so I could have applied it without liner but I like the finished look that liner gives red lipstick so I applied it anyway. When it finally does start to go away it fades smoothly so that you have something like a stain look on your lips.

I haven’t tried the other colors yet but I’ve done my research and apparently all of the colors are highly pigmented and all you need is one swipe to get the true color of the Glamazon. So basically, I looked great all day with one simple application of my  lipstick (normally I have to apply numerous times daily).

If lasting power and pigment aren’t enough reason to try it, the mango, avocado and shea butter it contains really work to moisturize the lips. I have to admit that this part really surprised me because I find that many of the long wear lipsticks dry out after a while so I stayed away from them.

What you won’t find in the Tarte Glamazon lipstick is a list of unnecessary and sometimes dangerous ingredients such as:

  • parabens
  • phthalates
  • sodium lauryl sulfate
  • synthetic fragrance
  • triclosan
  • mineral oil

The Glamazon comes in ten colors:

  • Pure (light rose)
  • Inspired (dusty rose)
  • Whimsy (bright pink)
  • Bold (coral)
  • Fierce (bright red)
  • Playful (purple rose)
  • Foxy (deep pink)
  • Wild (cool red)
  • Enlightened (nude)

You can pick up your own at Tarte Cosmetics   for $26.00 which may sound like a lot of dough but when you consider how rarely you will have to reapply it’s very well worth it. I’m thinking about whether I want the Light Rose or the Coral color for my daytime look.

Before I tried it I never thought that I would go so bright but I love it.

What a beautiful red! It’s not easy to find a perfect red color, but this one might be exactly what my makeup collection is lacking.
