Glossybox sent me the May box which is called ‘A Year If Beauty’. Basically the sample box consists of products that New York woman because NY is the hometown of Glossybox. Just as thrilling, this month is the one year anniversary of this beauty sample box. Check out what they enclosed in the package that they sent over.
Amorepacific Color Control Cushion Compact $60.00
This lightweight compact is said to contain SPF protection to combat free radicals, deep hydration and complete coverage for smooth skin. I normally don’t wear powder but I did try this one out. It goes on wet and dries instantly leaving a matte finish that is completely iridescent and natural looking. I also found it to be lightweight and moisturizing as they promised that it would be making it a great product to use during the summer months.
Etre Belle Collagen and Aloe Vera Htdro Mask $39.50
This mask provides the skin with an extreme moisture boost that improves elasticity and promotes hydration. I was very excited to try this mask because I have terrible black saucers under my eyes. I do like to use a collagen mask once a week but the effects last for three or four days tops which is ok with me because that’s a few days that I don’t look like a raccoon. As instructed, I used it before I went to bed and found that it made my skin soft and gave it a nice glow. As for the saucers, they also took a little vacation.
European Wax Center Slow It Body Wash $20.00 and The Exfoliate $38.00
Since I did laser hair removal treatments and got great results from it I didn’t use the Slow It Body Wash. I did try the exfoliate wash though and found that it gently removed the dead skin cells leaving my skin looking smooth.
My Prime Multi-Purpose Mattyfing Moisturizer$68.00
This product is a lightweight moisturizer that is said to deliver intense hydration and has anti-aging benefits. I’m in the process of reviewing another moisturizer so I only tested this one out for a day but found that it absorbed into my skin within three seconds. However, my skin was tingling for a few minutes and not in a good way so I washed it off. Perhaps you;’ll have better luck with it.
Nicka K New York Absolute Perfume Stick $14.99
This product is solid perfume. While I love the packaging the fragrance was much too strong for me and I simply couldn’t wear it. I did however give it to my friend and she loves it. She told me that the scent lasted most of the day making it well worth the price.
Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray $19.95
If the New York humidity is kicking you in the pants and your keratin has worn off be sure to try out this Sebastian spray. I like the way it held my hair and didn’t make it feel sticky or stiff.
I was sent my Glossybox to review but you can join the monthly service at http://www.glossybox.com/ to get your very own monthly beauty sample boxes. Happy birthday Glossybox!
