Sebamed is a skincare company that makes products targeting different types of skin: sensitive, dry, baby, aging and breakouts. Within those categories, they break it down even more by offering products for people who have eczema and psoriasis. Their products are based on formulating skincare to a pH balance of exactly 5.5 which is the pH of healthy skin. It basically helps your skin to fight environmental stress so that your skin looks and feels healthier in the long run. All Sebamed products are 100% biodegradable and cruelty free. This winter has seriously dried out my skin so I was really looking forward to testing out the two products that they sent over to me.
SebaMed Lotion Review
Company Description: ‘Developed by dermatologists, this mild, deep-moisturizing formula relieves dry, chapped hands and naturally maintains the strength of nails against breakage. Non-greasy and rapidly absorbed, it is enriched with allantoin and vitamin B5to support skin’s natural health while keratine promotes natural firmness and elasticity’.
As promised, the Sebamed Hand And Nail Balm absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t feel greasy at all. In fact within a minute after applying a generous amount of it, my hands look and feel moisturized but there is no trace of the lotion at all. The first few times that I used it my hands were so dry due to the gloves I wear at work that I didn’t really see a difference. After about two weeks though, my skin actually felt much better. I no longer felt irritated and itchy which is a huge deal for me.
While I do like it as a moisturizer for the hands, I love the Sebamed Hand And Nail Balm as a nail health product even more. I found that since I started using it, my nails have been growing longer, faster and I’ve had much fewer breaks and cracks. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have to use clippers as well as a nail file when I give myself a manicure.
The only downside is that it does wash away quickly so I made sure to keep it close by at all times. Still worth $12.99 though.
SebaMed Bodywash Review
Company Description: ‘100% soap and alkali free Sebamed Anti-Dry Wash Emulsion provides reliable skin protection against irritation and dryness through lipid erosion; safeguards and conserves the skin’s moisture balance’.
First thing first- I love a wash that is good to use on the body but is sensitive enough to use on the face. Not only does it make things move along during my morning shower but it goes to show just how great this wash is for people with sensitive skin like mine. I found that my skin felt refreshed and appeared to be soothed after using it for a week. I love a body wash that lathers and the Sebamed Anti-Dry Wash Emulsion gives me a super-rich lather. It is easy to rinse off and doesn’t leave a residue behind.
While my skin is sensitive and dry, I don’t have acne, but rumor has it that the wash is good for people who have acne as well. It seems that it helps to reduce breakouts by fighting acne causing bacteria.
I was very happy with the Sebamed products that I got to review. You can get yours on http://www.sebamedusa.com/
