I’ve recently had that opportunity to try out some nuNAAT products to review. Until the company contacted me, I had never heard of them before so I did some research and found their company description:
“In a nutshell. It’s where we found some of the finest ingredients for our products. We searched the world over to unearth nature’s bounty–all kinds of nuts, berries, fruits and plants. We even picked up a few ancient secrets along the way. Inspired by the natural resources found in Brazil’s rainforest regions, nuNAAT® was founded.
We began fusing nature with modern science, creating an array of extraordinary hair care products. As a division of Brazil’s M. Cassab Group, we carefully crafted our line with the belief that–with the right combination of natural ingredients–everyone can have great hair. After trying our products, others began believing it too. And just like that, nuNAAT® was discovered”.

Since I have frizzy hair I was very excited to try out the  nuNAAT Karite which is shea butter based. The company description of the Karite is:

  • Packed with vitamin A, D, E and F
  • Protects hair from harmful sun damage
  • No oily buildup or greasy residue
  • No clogged pores
  • Rehydrates, restores and revitalizes dry, damaged and brittle hair
  • Restores natural brilliance to chemically-processed hair
  • Protects hair from damage caused by daily flat iron use

Karite Special Hair Mask- I love this mask! I used my fingers to coat my hair with it and then covered my hair with a shower cap for fifteen minutes. When I rinsed it out and my hair dried I felt like it had more bounce although it was super light which means no left over residue. My hair was also shiny, healthy looking and truly beautiful. I used it once every two weeks because I like it so much but it’s so gentle that I think that you can even use it once a week. The entire line is worth trying out but if you want to try only one product to start off with I would recommend the mask because it’s so moisturizing.

Shampoo- The shampoo has a very light and slightly floral fragrance. It has a smooth texture that allows you to easily spread the product throughout your hair. I found that it was easy to rinse out and didn’t leave a residue behind. After using it, my hair felt light and clean.

Conditioner- The consistency of the conditioner is pretty thick, but I still found that I had to use a lot of it to get my strands untangled.  To be fair, my locks are very long and I’m in a bad need of a haircut, but still I used a little more than I normally do. The conditioner was great because it had such a spectacularly clean rinse and it left my hair feeling very soft and smooth.

Leave-In Detangler- The detangler quickly turned into one of the products that I used daily. I found that a nickel sized amount was more than enough to cover all of my hair. It allowed me to gently and efficiently brush through my hair without having to battle my way through tangles and knots therefore saving a few hairs from being torn out of the roots. Like the other products it was very light and didn’t leave a residue behind that left my locks feeling weighed down.

Anti-Freeze Thermo-Active- As instructed I used this product when I flat ironed my hair. I used a quarter size of the product and ran it through my hair while it was either dry or almost dry. I found that it made my hair shiny, silky and definitely reduced the amount of frizz that I saw.
