Repechage Review

8 Aug

Repechage skin care and mineral makeup line is used and sold in spas all over the world. I had the opportunity to use their Sea Spa Hand Cream which excited me for three simple reasons: they use natural ingredients, they’re paraben free and they don’t test on animals

Company Description (on the product packaging)

“Sea Spa hand cream with moisturizing seaweed and anti-oxidants help insulate hands. Provides a surge of soothing moisture as it helps to naturalize free radicals”.

Repechage Review

The Repechage hand cream comes in a light blue tube and has an easy to close navy top. It’s small enough that you can throw it in your purse or keep it on the corner of your desk so that it doesn’t take up much space and is readily available for when you need it. Since my hands are always in the water or covered in powdered gloves I try to have it close by all the time.

Now you know that I’m big on scents and I love the way that this cream smells. It’s a mixture of lavender and chamomile which I find to be very soothing. If you don’t like fragrance in your creams, this one is light and lasts for about an hour.

The Repechage cream absorbs fairly quickly and moisturizes instantly. After applying it, my hands were instantly smooth and didn’t feel greasy at all. I also found that the cream is light weight which is great because I don’t like to use heavy creams during the warmer months be it on my face or my body. This is not to say that I don’t feel that it wouldn’t work its magic during the winter. I’m a hot blooded person and tend to jack up the air conditioning in a way that other people always complain and even in that cold air, the cream lasted.

The cream is rich enough that I needed to apply a little bit at a time to see and feel its effects. I applied it once in the morning, once at night and a couple of times throughout the day.  It did wash off a little after I washed my hands so I had to reapply as needed. However, just because the water washed away some of the moisture it doesn’t mean that it was all gone. Although my hands were not as smooth, they were not dry either so if it wasn’t next to me I was still ok to go.

The Repechage hand cream has some great ingredients in it. To understand the reason that they were chosen to be included in the product, check out the benefits that they included on the Repechage Sea Spa product page:

Shea Butter- Extracted from the nuts of the Karite Tree, it nourishes skin with Vitamins A and E, while Vitamin F protects and rejuvenates. Shea Butter softens skin, treats stretch marks, evens skin tone, and is excellent for those who suffer from eczema.
Laminaria Digitata & Ascophyllum Nodosum (Sea Plants)- The blend of these EcoCert seaweeds provides hydrating, nourishing, and anti-oxidant properties. Natural sources of 12 vitamins including B12, C, E, K and Beta Carotene, 18 amino acids, and 42 trace elements. Essential fatty acids help maintain the skin barrier while Alginic Acid – a polysaccharide – helps to lock moisture into the skin. Known to help increase cell proliferation.
Lavender Oil- An essential oil used for its aromatherapy and calming properties. Also known for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Eucalyptus Oil- Obtained through the steam distillation of the leaves of Eucalyptus Globulus. Valued for its awakening, revitalizing fragrance. A strong antiseptic with healing and stimulating properties. A vaso-dilator that helps improve circulation.
Chamomile Extracts- Extracts made from the daisy-like white and yellow heads of the Chamomile flowers. Popular as an excellent skin soother and anti-inflammatory agent.

Would I try it out again and is it worth $7.90 for the 1 oz travel size? I would say yes to both. I love the ingredients that they use and I feel that it works well. If you want to try it out for yourself just head on over to Repechage

I really love this cream, it feels so good on dry skin. I also heard good things about some of Repechage’s other products, I can’t wait to check them out.
