Jane Iredale Review
24 Jul
I was given the opportunity to try a Jane Iredale lip plumper called Kissable You. If you’ve never heard of Jane Iredale before, she makes mineral cosmetics that are good for your skin. She was inspired to do this after working with women whose careers depended on their skin, but had disorders and so they lost their jobs or even worse, their confidence. With a story like that how could I not be inspired to try out her products?
Company Description
“Make your lips full and kissable with our tinted cool mint and ginger lip plumper. Special peptides give moisture and visible plumping that lasts”.
Jane Iredale Review
Packaging
Kissable You comes in a small white and gold box. On the front of the box it simply says the name of the brand and product. On top of the box it says the name of the color that you’re purchasing. But the back of the box is what interested me the most because it’s where you find the list of ingredients and learn that it will last for 12 months before it expires. I love that they give you an expiration date because the FDA does not require this of beauty companies so most of them don’t do it and most consumers are not aware that makeup does in fact expire and can cause rashes and infections when it does. Ten points for Jane Iredale for being a responsible company! The lip plumper itself comes in a gold colored lipstick tube so that you can throw it in your purse and always have it with you.
Ingredients
The Jane Iredale Lip Plumper, Kissable You includes the following ingredients:
- Avocado Oil
- Beeswax
- Jojoba Seed Oil
- Sunflower Seed Oil
- Shea Butter
- Green Tea Leaf Extract
- Cranberry Fruit Extract
- Grape Seed Extract
- And a few other ingredients
In other words, when using Kissable You, you should expect to get a blast of moisture delivered right along with some major plumping action. Oh and for you animal lovers out there, it distinctly says animal testing is not used on this product.
The Effects of the Jane Iredale Lip Plumper
After I applied the Jane Iredale lip plumper my lips instantly began to tingle and first felt hot and then cool. The cool sensation kept on going for about forty minutes which told me that it was working. I did notice that my lips appeared to be fuller than they are originally. They also felt moisturized and soft thanks to all of the natural ingredients that they packed into it. For the first few minutes I also noticed the fragrance of bubble gum. Yes, I realize that I may be crazy but that’s what it smells like to me and I love it.
The Jane Iredale lip plumper is available in seven shades:
- Rio
- Sydney
- NYC
- Milan
- Madrid
- Tokya
- L.A.
The color that I got to try out is called Sydney which looked totally sheer on sheer on me so I applied a few layers to get a beautiful brown with tints of gold and coral in it. However, keep in mind that the line of plumpers is meant to be sheer so whichever color you opt for will have a sheer look to it at the end. If you prefer a plumper with color, I wouldn’t skip this one because it does deliver good results and can be used under your lipstick and give good results. The effects lasted for about four and a half hours (or until I ate something) on me so that I was able to keep application time down to a minimum. When the plumper wore off my lips still felt smooth and conditioned and there was no color left at all.
I did have a good experience with the Jane Iredale lip plumper, Kissable You and would wear it again. You can purchase one of the seven colors for $25.00 on the Jane Iredale site or at your favorite beauty retailer.
Have you tried a lip plumper you love or any products from Jane Iredale? What are your thoughts?

I’ve never tried any lip product from Jane Iredale, and this one looks super on your lips! Love the color!

The color is great and it feels good on. I normally don’t do plumpers but I like this one.
I’ve read a lot of good reviews on Jane Iredale, I should try this line soon. I like Buxom from Bareminerals and lip venom from Duwop but both sting like hell.

This one tingles but it doesn’t sting. I couldn’t go through my day like that.
