Boots Skincare

31 May

I had reviewed Boots skincare a while ago, so when the company offered to send me some new products to review I jumped at the opportunity. Not only did I love their products but they’re affordable and easily accessible which isn’t always the case with beauty products. The Boots skincare products that they sent me include a cleanser, a body wash and a body butter.

Boots Cleanser

This cleanser is infused with plant extracts as well as olive oil moisturizers which are meant to soften your skin as you wash your face. For those of you who like to use organic skincare products, the Boots cleanser is certified to be 80% organic and you can see this directly on the label. The product itself was on the thin side, not quiet runny but not as thick as the other cleansers that I’m used to seeing. It spread very easily and washed away quickly. I was surprised at how little it lathered, but knew that it was doing a good job at cleaning my skin because after I washed it off, my skin felt taught. There was one thing missing however- moisture. I didn’t feel as if my skin felt soft or nourished at all. Although it sells for $8.39 I would rather spend a little more and get a cleanser that cleans and moisturizes my skin.

Boots Body Butter

I got to try the vanilla body butter which is infused with shea and cocoa butter and loved it. Upon opening the jar, the first thing that I noticed was the delicious vanilla fragrance. It reminds me of baking cookies and is not so overpowering that it’s annoying. If this scent is something that isn’t appealing to you, don’t be turned off because it only lasts a very short while so you won’t even notice it after a few minutes. The butter is so thick and rich that you pretty much have to scoop it out of the container with your fingers when you want to apply it. It goes on smooth and sinks into your skin quickly so that you’re not left with a greasy residue. I used it twice a day (after my morning shower and before I went to bed) and found that the Boots body butter kept my skin soft and nourished around the clock. I love the body butter and would definitely purchase it in the future.

Boots Body Wash

I received the cranberry scented body wash to try out. I found that it lathered beautifully and my skin felt clean and refreshed after I’ve used it. I was surprised at how little I needed to get these results. Something about the size of a quarter took was all that I needed and since I’m a little over 5’8″, that’s pretty good. I’m not a great fan of the fragrance, but that wouldn’t stop me from trying out one of the other scents. It’s a great partner to be used with the body butter and together, they worked nicely to keep my skin looking and feeling soft and nourished.

All in all, I feel that Boots skincare is a good buy and would definitely recommend the body butter and the body wash. Although I’m not a fan of the face cleanser, if you like organic skin products you may want to check it out. All of these items can be purchased at Target and you can find more information on each one of these products and many others on Boots.com.

I really like the sound of the body wash, but I am not a huge fan of Cranberry anything so I wouldn’t mind another scent. What others did they come in?

The ones that I know about are cocoa butter, almond, brazil nut and mango. I’ve tried all of them and they’re all good. Smell nice too.
