Fashion at the Emmys was so much fun to watch this year. The dresses were elegant, engaging and enticing. The most popular style dresses were one shouldered the most popular color was red, but there was so much more. With so much to choose from it was hard for me to narrow down my favorites but here are my picks for the best of the Emmys fashion.
If there’s anyone who can wear red it’s Sofia Vergara. This Vera Wang dress complimented her skin tone, shape and even her hair color. I love the neckline and the fluidity of the hemline on this dress because everything about it creates a soft curvaceous line. She really is a vision in red.
Aubrey Plaza looked stunning in this Juan Carlos Obando dress. Normally I don’t go for loads of ruffles on a dress but this time I love it. The dress looks romantic and has an air of innocence. The tai l of the dress adds to the style and is a continuation of the romantic theme she’s got going. Of course it doesn’t hurt that she has great shoulders and tiny hips.
Sarah Hyland is another fan of the red one shouldered dress, but with a different take. The Christian Sisiano dress is heavily pleated in a way where your eyes are forced to run down the entire length of it. The waistline detailing gives the dress a nice break and another touch of modern glam. Sigh.
Get rid of the purse and the shoes and Kaley Cuoco looks adorable in this Romona Keveza dress that is channeling old Hollywood. It’s really the shoulder detailing that got my attention because it’s sweet and sexy at the same time. Waist down all I could think of is Sarah Jessica Parker and Oscar De La Renta, but all in all it’s a beautiful dress.
Few women can wear (or even consider wearing) this Armani Prive dress. Good thing that Padma Lakshmi can. The dress accentuates the her features and brings out her best qualities. I don’t get it. How is she a judge on Top Chef and look the way she does? I want better genes on my next life.
The 2011 Emmys fashion has been my favorite in years. I don’t remember the last time I watched it and was able to come up with five favorites. Great job ladies!
